Install fresh alkaline AA batteries before starting. Do not switch off or remove batteries or the SD card during installation. Power interruption can leave the camera unusable and require service.

For BTC-4E40. The official material provides a filename rather than a separate version number.

1. Copy BTC4E4025.bin unchanged onto an empty SD card.
2. Insert it with the camera off, then power on.
3. Before a capture occurs, choose M → up → SW Upgrade → OK.
4. Select Y and press OK.
5. Wait about 30–60 seconds for Done and the automatic restart.

After completion, Delete All can clear the update card.
