Crossing movement and temperature contrast help detection.
The PIR sensor detects changing infrared energy as a subject enters its zone. The zone widens outward, and larger animals are generally easier to detect than small ones.
Crossing diagonally can reveal movement and temperature changes more clearly than approaching head-on. Detection can vary when the subject and background have similar temperatures.
Why a moving branch can trigger a capture
A large branch may expose a background at a different temperature. Lens field of view and PIR coverage are different; use Motion Test to check the actual area.
