Check batteries when power is unreliable

Check polarity, charge and the permitted battery type.

  1. Match every cell to the tray’s +/− markings.
  2. Replace the whole set with fresh batteries of one type.
  3. Power on and check the battery indicator.
  4. Remove batteries for extended storage.

Failure to power on, slow responses, missed captures and weak infrared light can be power-related.

Rechargeable support varies

Older general advice discourages rechargeables, but the BTC-8E-HP5U manual permits them and provides a Battery Type setting. Follow each model’s manual rather than applying one rule to all cameras.
